City Hall – Council Hearing Room The goals of the City of San Luis Obispo Promotional Coordinating Committee are to (1) improve the quality of life available to all residents of and visitors to San Luis Obispo and (2) promote, in a manner consistent with long-range community goals, the development of San Luis Obispo as a regional and tourist center. SLO CHAMBER YEAR-END REPORT 25 mins Representatives from the SLO Chamber will present the 201 8-19 year-end report for the contracted Visitor Services, GIA Support and Public Relations efforts for the PCC. SLO Chamber of Commerce Monthly Report Jacqui Clark-Charlesworth, SLO Chamber Director of Communications and Business Education, reported on the past month activities for the Public Relations contract with the PCC. Reported highlights included coverage by Trivago magazine and micro-influencer Jacki Carr. Public Comment None --End of Public Comment-- No action was taken on this item. BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Community Placemaking: Banner Project Tourism Manager Cano presented the banner designs and discussed the locations and number of banners to be produced. The Committee discussed a possible re-design of the Railroad Square "Heritage" design and gave direction to staff on what design changes they would like made. A detailed review of the costs for the Railroad Square component of the Banner Project was presented and possible options for funding were discussed. Tourism Business Improvement District (TBID) Board Report Committee Member Wilkins reported on the TBID Board meeting of June 12, 2019. 3. Overall, we saw a 35% increase in total reach to our “Monday: What’s Happening This Week” posts when compared to May 2019. These posts are boosted for engagement and specifically targeted to our regional audience. We also saw a very positive lift in our “Ticket Tuesday” content. While we did have fewer entries, we did see a 15% increase in total reach when compared to May 2019 “Ticket Tuesday” stats. The SLO Happenings event calendar remained within the top 4 most visited pages on SanLuisObispoVacations.com with 2,293 pageviews.
