seven City Councils of the incorporated cities of San Luis Obispo County hold a joint meeting in
Morro Bay, This is the first time ever for all San Luis Obispo County City Councils to meet
together.
Agenda items to be discussed include the property tax split between the cities and county,
The seven mayors feel the county receives an unfairly high share of citys' property taxes
compared to the higher percentage the county receives.
Discussion of property and sales tax impacts on city annexations will follow. The cities
feel the county holds an unfair advantage over the cities when a city tries to annex land.
Additionally, the seven city councils will discuss the need for a joint planning agreement between
the cities and county for future planning of lands surrounding cities. The mayors will look for city
councils' support for greenbelt, non -urban space separations around their respective cities.
The City of Paso Robles will make a presentation on waste management systems and the
joint powers agreement between the cities and county.
The meeting is the first of what is expected to be an annual meeting between all of the San
Luis Obispo County cities.
