The above pie chart shows how the property tax dollar is divided up between schools, county government, special districts and cities. Roughly seven cents of every dollar paid by Morro Bay property owners comes to the City of Morro Bay's General Fund. The Fiscal Year 1995-96 estimated property tax revenue is $1,207,104 which equates to approximately 23% of General Fund revenues. c.mamser+waomanoaudew rr 09/25/95 13:39 $805 772 7329 CTY OF MORRO BAY 0004/007 Morro Bay Property Tax Receipts V3, other SLO Coutey Agencies (0.3%) U Morro Bay Q Itst of County The County of San Luis Obispo assesses and collects all property taxes for all tax supported agencies within the county. This amount represents seven -tenths of one percent (0.7%). As a whole all cities within the county receive about seven percent (7%) of total collections. Schools receive 63%, special districts receive 6%, and the county receives the remaining 24%. 09/25/95 13:39 $805 772 7329 CTY OF MORRO BAY 0 005/007 City of Morro Bay Fiscal Year 1995-96 Budget Major Revenue Sources of the General Fund Major Revenue Sources Of The General Fund (18.9%) General Sales Tax (23.3%) Property Taxes (18.3%) Transient Oce Tax raryi;;y?ty;w .T (39.4%) Other Revenues Sixty percent of all revenue accruing to the General Fund comes from three sources.
