Re: Public Records Act Request
Dear Mr. Burke and Sir or Madam:
Pursuant to the California Public Records Act, Government Code section 6250, et seq., we request
the below-listed documents.
DEFINITIONS
A. “YOU” means the City of San Luis Obispo and all of its agents, employees, agencies,
advisory bodies, and representatives, including without limit the Housing Authority of San Luis Obispo.
B. “PROJECT” means the mixed use project at or near the address 1259 Laurel Lane, San
Luis Obispo, California 93401, put out to bid in 2017.
C. “RELATED TO” means those items that constitute, evidence, record, reflect, analyze,
summarize, support, refute, or comment upon.
D. “WRITINGS” means that which is defined by Government Code section 6252, as “any
handwriting, typewriting, printing, photostating, photographing, photocopying, transmitting by electronic
mail or facsimile, and every other means of recording upon any tangible thing any form of communication
or representation, including letters, words, pictures, sounds, or symbols, or combinations thereof, and any
record thereby created, regardless of the manner in which the record has been stored.”
E. “TROMBLEY” means Trombley Enterprises, LLC, dba Trombley Painting Company, and
any of its agents, employees, or representatives.
F. “NEWTON” means Newton Construction & Management, Inc., and any of its agents,
employees, or representatives.

REQUESTS
1. All bids or proposals submitted to YOU to perform the PROJECT.
2. The low bid for the PROJECT.
3. NEWTON’s bid for the PROJECT.
4. All WRITINGS RELATED TO or announcing the low bid for the PROJECT.
5. All WRITINGS RELATED TO TROMBLEY and the PROJECT.
6. The contract entered into between YOU and the contractor which performed or constructed
the PROJECT.
We agree to pay search fees necessary to comply with this request up to the amount of $100.00. In
the event that the total fee for this request is anticipated to exceed $100.00, we request expenditure of the
agreed upon amount to retrieve those records which are most readily available, and notification of the
extent of any additional fees necessary to comply with this request.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this request and a response no later than October 21, 2019,
as required by the cited statute.
